Torelló Lathing Museum

The in Torrelló Lathing Museum reveals the world of lathes and lathing, an activity with centuries of history, with a continued role in our daily life in the modern era.

The tour presents the process of industrialisation in Catalonia through the traditional craft of wood and horn turning, which then became a notable industrial sector in parallel with textiles.

The exhibits include objects lathed in wood, horn and galalith, as well as the turner’s tools and lathing machines. The Museum likewise presents historical documents and photos of the lathing industry, and an audiovisual feature about woodlands, lathes and turners.
