Barcelona Fire Brigade Site

Housed in the former Poble Sec Fire Station, the Barcelona Fire Brigade Site serves as a museum exhibition telling the story of more than 190 years of the Barcelona Fire Service, through a number of heritage exhibits and their links to the city. The Site likewise features a training and education centre focused on risk prevention and self-protection.

The items on display are drawn from the Barcelona Fire Service collections, and include all manner of exhibits. One notable feature is the Delahaye pump, better known as Genoveva, one of the fire department’s historic vehicles.

Aside from the exhibition of apparatus, the Site also features a number of modules with audiovisual content allowing visitors to interact. One of the projects allows them to experience the sensations they could feel during a fire, through an audiovisual system reproducing each stage of an actual call-out, from a member of the public phoning in, to the final resolution of the incident.
