The Trepat Museum in Tàrrega is housed on the premises of the former J. Trepat agricultural machinery factory. Such distinctive agricultural machines as sifters, harvesters, binders and others which transformed life and work in the countryside were manufactured and marketed here.
Cal Trepat is a unique and distinctive site which stands out in Catalonia, Spain and Europe thanks to the way it preserves the whole heritage complex: the architectural structure is retained, together with all the machinery from the production process, the workers’ tools, and even the administrative archive.
The Trepat Museum offers the chance to venture into a “time machine” on a tour around the first five production workshops of the Trepat factory and part of the company’s sales and admin department, where a series of audiovisual, sound and light displays transport visitors to the industrial reality of the middle of the last century, serving to interpret and contextualise the different settings and exhibits to be found at this major heritage site.
