The Oil Museum of Catalonia, housed within the site of the La Granadella Cooperative, contains the original installations and machinery of the oil mill founded in 1920, and which ceased operation in the 1980s.
The facility was born out of the district’s agricultural origins, and the desire to restore the mill building to explain the heart of economic activity in the Garrigues area: the process of extracting extra virgin olive oil.
Visitors to the Museum can explore the different parts of the old mill, and learn how the whole oil production process took place prior to modernisation.
